Hello! This is the Needy Basket report for June 2019. In May, the Needy Basket distributed over 25,000 lbs of food and related household items to 112 families including 113 children, 62 senior citizens, and 177 adults. Also during May, we received  over 2,500 lbs of donated food. Individuals donated about 120 lbs, churches about 67 lbs, and businesses about 2,300 lbs of food. Thanks very much to the National Letter Carriers Association's Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive for sponsoring and collecting over 1,500 lbs of food! And thanks to all who donated and volunteered their time to help others last month.

Overall, June has been relatively busy. First, thanks very much to the Teens Impacting and Promoting Philanthropy (T.I.P.P.) program, spearheaded by the Tipp City Foundation, for their recent grant supporting our planned 2019 Holiday Program. Also, thanks to the Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) for selecting the Needy Basket as one of the recipients of their 5K Run/Walk to Fight Hunger fund raiser. I was tired just watching all of those folks running! In addition, thanks to the American Honda Troy folks who donated their time and labor helping us serve clients and move food stocks this month. Finally, thanks to the Meijer Inc Simply Give Program for matching donations we received from you, our community supporters. We, and all of the other charities that help make this a great community, know that nothing happens without your support. We certainly appreciate it. Thank you.
